A few years back I had the privilege of traveling around parts of the United Kingdom. From Edinburgh, my dear friend and I rented a car, packed the back seat with groceries and set off to explore the untamed beauty of the Scottish Highlands. One afternoon while driving around the Isle of Skye we ended up on a one-lane switch back road headed right up the side of a mountain; unsure of where we were headed but unable to turn around we kept driving up, up, up. When we reached the top we were met with vistas unlike anything I have ever seen. Unknown to us, in taking our short cut across the island we had driven right up to the Quiraing, one of the Isle’s most well known and beautiful locations.
In life some days we get in the car and the road takes us exactly where we were planning to go. Other days life hands us flat tires, tragic accidents, missed appointments, or like that special April day, unexpected beauty. For everyone, life is filled with these tensions and everyday we must navigate through this broken and beautiful world.
It is my firm belief that we do not navigate this life on our own. I believe we were all made in God's image, for worship and to enjoy God forever. And it is one of my greatest privileges to help others learn how to study the Bible, grow in their love of the Lord and strengthen their Gospel centered worldview.
